Should Andrew Jackson, our 7th President remain on the $20 bill?

Andrew Jackson expanded democracy and was a hero of the War of 1812. Some say, though, that his legacy is tarnished by his treatment of Native Americans, his ownership of slaves and his hatred of the U.S. bank which still has his portrait on this most important currency. Evaluate Andrew Jackson’s presidency and determine if he should continue to represented on the $20 bill. Use evidence to support your decision.

I don’t think our 7th president shouldn’t be on the 20 dollar bill because what he did back then was sort of racist to the tribes.

  2. Leslie G. says:

I think Andrew Jackson shouldn’t be on the $20 bill because even though he was a hero of the war in 1812, he was still a racist and hated banks. He also owned slaves and to me that’s not okay because you’re taking advantage of people.

  3. Maria Elena Carpio says:

Andrew Jackson had been a hero in the war of 1812, but he shouldn’t be on the 20 dollar bill anymore. Andrew was a great hero in the war of 1812, but his good fame vanished because he was unconstitutional and kicked the Native Americans out of their homeland. Therefore, the Trail of Tears made more than 2,000 people die. They were forced out of their homeland in a harsh and cruel way. Also, Andrew Jackson thought that the bank wasn’t a good idea. He said that he would one day kill the bank where the bank today, plays a big role in our economy. Andrew Jackson hated banks and the irony now is that he is now “given” to people at the bank. Why have the man who hated banks be on a 20 dollar bill? Andrew Jackson was a great person when it came to the war of 1812, but he was unconstituional when it came to kicking out the Native Americans from their homelands. Henceforth, the 20 dollar bill shouldn’t have Andrew Jackson’s face on it.

  4. James Nguyen says:

I don’t think Andrew Jackson should be on the 20 dollar bill because he owned slaves and slavery isn’t right. Nobody should ever be deserved to be treated like a slave. Plus, He was racist towards Native Americans, and racism isn’t ok.

  5. Hakeem Hendrix says:

Andrew Jackson should not be on the 20 dollar bill because why have a racist and discriminator on our most important bill.

  6. Emanuel says:

I don’t think that Andrew Jackson should be on the 20 dollar bill because he took land from the Native Americans when they didn’t need land.

  7. Ivan C says:

Andrew Jackson was a hero in the war, but he shouldn’t be on the 20 dollar bill at all.He was still a racist and hated banks & we all love banks becuse we keep are money in them safe. He also owned slaves and to me that’s not okay because you’re taking advantage of people that dont have a say in this. This is why Andrew Jackson should not be on the 20 dollar bill.
